My name is Julie and I am delighted to invite you to celebrate with me the joy and healing power of gentle, focused touch.
I began learning about the sacred gift of massage about a year and half ago working with an extremely accomplished, utterly amazing certified massage therapist. Through this experience I developed my own style of bodywork... a flowing massage with long strokes and light to medium pressure. I follow my intuitition rather than a predetermined process or technique. I respond to what I feel showing up for you and offer touch with the intention of soothing, relaxing, nurturing and pampering rather than what you might obtain from a typical therapeutic or deep tissue massage. My goal is to help you find refreshment for your body, rejuvenation for your spirit, and comfort that makes you feel whole again.
My clients include professional boxers, football players, and dozens of others who have received massages in the best salons in the world. Time and again they tell me they have yet to find a massage as unique and captivating as mine. Some have told me that my style feels similar to Esalen massage, a special type of massage taught in Big Sur, CA.
You can check out some of their specific feedback using the client feedback tab. Thier comments speak for my talent in leiu of formal training. They also speak to my passion for touch. I truly love the experiences I create. I feel both priviledged and blessed being entrusted to share healing touch with others.
When not involved in bodywork, I am a happily single mom, business consultant, writer of poetry and books, and lifestyle coach to busy people struggling to make nutrition and other health strategies a way of life. I am a committed student of life, love, self actualization (forgive the 70's term) and living in the moment.
Yoga helps me stay grounded and breathe when I notice all the plates I have spinning. My boxing workouts add a little yang to my yoga yin. Together, both help me stay young, fit and strong.
Thank you for your interest in learning about me. I looking forward to making your pleasure the focus of my ONE intention.
Warmest Regards,
Julie
PS I'd like to clarify that I am NOT "certified" or formally trained in massage. I AM NOT AN ESALEN THERAPIST! Certification is not necessary in Michigan, and as it happens, many practicing therapists are not certified.
